TOTALS AFTER WEEK SIX:

113-14

116-11

111-16

112-15

118-9

 113-14

114-13

To make things interesting, we will also keep a tally on which staff member correctly picks the most games each week. After week six Seth is leading the pack and pulling away from the competition.

Andrew Spivey

It’s a pretty easy week of games with the biggest question coming as to whether or not Missouri is for real. I think the Tigers are good but I’m not sure they are good enough to go Between the Hedges and beat Georgia this week.

Daniel “DK” Thompson

Three losses last week!? That’s it. I’m done playing nice. These are Dan Thompson’s STONE COLD LOCKS OF THE WEEK.

Baylor by 21+.

Louisville by 17+

Oklahoma by 14+

Florida by 3+

Penn State gets the upset by 7+

Lots of chalk this week, but trust me these are the real deal. I didn’t struggle with any of these picks. I think Florida will squeeze by LSU because their defense should shut down LSU and I truly believe that Florida can move the ball against LSU on offense – much more so than last year. Baylor is downright nasty and could vie for a National Championship spot – Baylor vs. Bama?! OU creams Texas in the Red River Rivalry. And I like what I am seeing out of Penn State – big win against Michigan.

Seth Puglio

I may have a decent lead but this is probably the best slate of games so far this season and there are a lot of tough games to pick. I would have had a harder time picking the Rutgers-Louisville and Missouri-Georgia games if, the favorite wasn’t at home. I think Texas will either come out pissed off against Oklahoma or flounder on their faces, let’s see if Mack’s still got it for the Longhorns.

I think LSU beats Florida not because of the quarterback injury, but because of the defensive tackle injury. The unbelievable push Easley got off the line was a big reason for the defense’s success and I think that’ll show on Saturday.

I couldn’t bring myself to pick Washington over Oregon but the Huskies should hang tough inside the friendly confines of their new stadium.

Richard Johnson

Biggest game of the week in the SEC pits the Florida Gators against the LSU Tigers. It’s a matchup of strength vs. strength when the Gators defense goes head to head with a potent LSU offense led by a resurgent Zach Mattenberger at quarterback. I think the Tigers go deep often in the middle of the field, exploiting the Gator safeties and get an early lead. The Gators aren’t exactly built to come from behind, I think Tyler Murphy presses, and makes a late mistake while just trying to make a play that dooms the Gators on the road.

The other big game this weekend matches Oregon and Washington. I think the Ducks are just too good, and while Washington will put up a good fight, aren’t quite ready to match the Ducks offensively.

David Shepard

Just room for a couple of upsets this week. I think Florida will beat LSU because the Tiger receivers won’t run free and that will cause the Tiger offense to sputter. Georgia is ripe with all of their injuries but so far they seem to be playing the role of survivor really well.
