Florida offers talented Arkansas receiver

Wednesday was a busy day in recruiting for the Florida Gators as the coaches handed out three scholarship offers.

One of those offers was handed out to receiver K.J. Hill (6-1, 175, North Little Rock, AR High) who was excited when he called the Florida coaches.

“Florida offered me today when I called the coaches,” Hill said. “I called Coach [Drew] Hughes and then I talked to Coach [Will] Muschamp. Coach Muschamp said that he loved my film and did I have any interest in Florida? I said yes sir, I do. After that he said he wanted to offer me and that he really liked my film and that he needed playmakers like me that can open in space like I do now.”

Many might wonder why a kid from Arkansas would have interest in the Gators but he says it started when he was just a young kid watching SEC football.

“I’ve been watching Florida since I was little, they were one of the schools I grew up liking and rooting for when I was little,” Hill said. “I love the tradition that Florida has and the way they put players into the NFL. I’m excited to learn even more about them now that I have the offer.”

After receiving the offer from Florida, the school he grew up rooting for, he got the chance to hear what he could do for the Gators from head coach Will Muschamp.

“Coach Muschamp said that I would fit in perfectly into the new offense that he’s running down there,” Hill said. “He said that he’s looking for players like me who could do things with the ball in their hands. He said that he needs someone like me to get open and do their thing.”

Hill will also get the chance to meet one of the Gator assistant coaches in a few weeks when Florida will send receiver coach Joker Phillips to Arkansas to meet with Hill.

“Coach [Joker] Phillips is supposed to come see me this spring,” Hill said. “Coach Muschamp said that he wasn’t sure when he would be out to see me but that it would be sometime soon.”

After Phillips meet with Hill in Arkansas the talented receiver will return the favor and visit Gainesville this summer.

“I’m wide open right now,” Hill said. “I want to take a few visits this summer. I plan to get down to Florida this summer for sure.”
