Florida Gators targets in the Under Armour All-American Game

The Under Armour All-American game is approaching as players will start to arrive in Orlando, Florida on Sunday for the January 2nd contest.

Gator Country will be bringing you live coverage of the players arriving as well as practice updates and game updates throughout next week.

Many of the Florida Gators’ top targets as well one of the program’s commits will be participating in the game that will feature two teams: Team Armour and Team Highlight.

Here are the players Florida fans should watch and remember as they watch practice and the game next week.

TEAM ARMOUR

TE #10 Chris Clark- Clark committed to Michigan when Doug Nussmeier was the offensive coordinator and was also one of the first calls Florida head coach Jim McElwain made when he was hired.

Florida offensive line commit #71 Tyler Jordan- Jordan has remained solid to Florida since he committed last spring and is the Gators lead recruiter in this class.

Defensive tackle #73 Kendrick Norton- Norton will see some time at offensive guard in this game as well as defensive tackle. Florida is battling Miami for his signature as a defensive tackle.

Alabama linebacker commit #6 Adonis Thomas- Thomas is a former Gator commit that Florida is still trying to get on campus for an official visit as they try to sway the linebacker back to the orange and blue.

Linebacker #11 Jeffery Holland- Auburn and Florida are battling for Holland as the Gators are in desperate need of linebackers.

Auburn linebacker commit #15 Richard McBryde- McBryde has received a lot of interest from Florida as of late and the Gators are hoping to get an official visit from the linebacker in January.

Notre Dame linebacker commit #17 Te’Von Coney- Coney is committed to Notre Dame and is scheduled to early enroll in January. However, the Gators are hoping for a last minute flip.

Auburn safety commit #23 D’Anfernee McGriff- McGriff has received a ton of interest from McElwain as of late and the Gators are in line to get an official visit from McGriff in Janaury.

TEAM HIGHLIGHT

Florida State quarterback commit #3 Deondre Francois- Francois is scheduled to take an official visit to Florida in January as the Gators now need a quarterback commit in the class.

Receiver #5 Da’Vante Phillips- Phillips was a one-time Florida commit but decommitted last year. Phillips says he’s hoping for interest in Florida but that hasn’t happened yet.

Clemson athlete commit #10 Ray-Ray McCloud III- McCloud is supposed to early enroll in January at Clemson, though there has been talk that he won’t so that’s the biggest question heading into the Under Armour game.

South Carolina offensive line commit #55 Christian Pellage- Pellage was the second prospect to see McElwain after he was hired. Pellage didn’t receive much interest from Florida under Will Muschamp but that has changed since McElwain has been in town.

Florida State offensive line commit #72 Abdul Bello- Bello is someone that Florida hasn’t given up on yet but the lineman is solid Florida State. A January official is possible though.

Linebacker #1 Roquan Smith- Smith is looking at Florida and Georgia but the Gators are fading now that D.J. Durkin is no longer the defensive coordinator.

Defensive end #99 Byron Cowart- Cowart is the Gators biggest target at the game and the Gators are right in the thick of things with FSU, Auburn and Alabama also involved. An official to Florida is scheduled for January.

  1. One reason I love recruiting….you never know who we will get….remember last year Gerald Willis committed to us..Jalen Tabor committed to Arizona and Davin Cook burnt us for the criminoles during UA practice. Hopefully we get a commit back and few more to go with this very unflattering class that is in dire need of a defibrillator in Byron Cowart to get this thing beating again!
