Florida Gators Recruiting Mailbag September 11th

This week Florida Gators recruiting mailbag is full of questions on the Class of 2015 and how last week’s big win helped the Florida Gators Recruiting efforts.

15gator05: Who do you think could be our next commitment? When do you think it could happen?

AS: Receiver Ryan Davis wants to decide soon and now Missouri tight end commit Daniel Imatorbhebhe is coming on campus this weekend so either one of those would be my guess right now.

Supagator: How many can we count back? who are the Early enrolles? How many can we take?

AS: I believe the number is 7 but I wouldn’t expect Florida to go over 25 this year so it shouldn’t play a factor.  Out of the current commits the only one who has said he’s trying to enroll early is George Brown that I know of. This stuff changes as the fall goes on.

Gatorntuscaloosa: Has Martez Ivey given any indication of when he is going to visit? What’s going on with our other OL prospects?

AS: Most likely the LSU game but nothing concrete yet. Jalen Merrick is visiting this weekend and Isaiah Prince and Matthew Burrell plan to visit later in the fall or December.

Coky12: In prior years, there was mention that the Florida staff did not offer package deals for recruits? Are there any possibilities this year? Any of these pairs extremely tight?
1. McCloud/Cain
2. Calloway/Davis
3. Cronkrite/Irvin

AS: Florida offers package deals but the list below isn’t considered a package deal. A package deal is when you take someone that isn’t as good to get a better player. All of six of those guys are good players but Ray-Ray McCloud and Deon Cain are the best of the bunch.

MrB-Gator: AS….who do you think are real possibilities on the DL?

AS: Byron Cowart, CeCe Jefferson, Kendrick Norton are the best possibilities right now. Daylon Mack is someone to keep a very close eye on but he hasn’t visited yet.

Gatorntuscaloosa: Also, going with Mister B’s line of thinking regarding D line, if Norton wants to commit, does that close the door on Mack? Or do the coaches hold off on a commitment from Norton to see if Mack wants in, or do they take both, if they want in?

AS: No Florida would absolutely take both of them. Daylon Mack is an elite player.

Wesstump: Last week I asked about the 2016 LB possibilities. The 2016 recruits at all positions, is Florida strong next year or will we have to go out of state for some positions. I know we will recruit some out of state but will it be because we have to?

AS: Florida is very strong for next year but like any year Will Muschamp and his staff will cherry pick some top guys out of state like Georgia and possibly even the Carolina’s again.

Ol2ange: How many safeties do you expect to see in this class? Other than that JUCO guy and Tim Irvin, who are our top targets at that position?

AS: That’s really it at this point. Florida would be ok with just taking one safety after Duke Dawson moved to safety this fall.

Macbgator: Any truth to a rumor that we may get Prince and not Ivey for offensive line? Ivey to Auburn?

AS: No truth to that at all. Martez Ivey is still very interested and Isaiah Prince is as well but the Florida Gators would take both.

Gatordon: Are you in a position to give your odds on the big targets on the Gators’ board, or is it too early?

AS: Let’s wait until after the LSU week when Florida has played a few more games and the guys visit for that big game. After that week I will feel better about doing that.

Gatordon: Are there commits elsewhere that are ripe for flipping?

AS: Several guys like Jordan Cronkrite and Dexter Williams of Miami. Daniel Imatorbhebhe of Missouri and also Javarius Davis of North Carolina. Of course Daylon Mack of Texas A&M is the top guy.

Gatordon: Can you get a web cam in a recruit’s house when Clemson is recruiting them?

AS: Better yet the bank accounts. HAHA

Brainstorm: JuCo guards?

AS: Florida is good shape for guards this year but they are looking at a few JUCO tackles this year.

Gator_nica: Out of the 4 RB’s committed to Miami, which one seems like a flip to UF at this time?

AS: Jordan Cronkrite or Dexter Williams. Right now I say Williams because he’s been on campus more.

Rperry1255: Do you feel production on offense/defense is greater than wins/losses?

AS: Both are very important because kids don’t want to play and lose games but they also want to see a good offense. As long as Will Muschamp is the coach the defense will be good.

Cbseptic: Would we take both Davis’ boys? Will this be Muschamp’s best class so far?

AS: Yes they would take Javarius Davis and Ryan Davis and it very well could be the best class if the Florida Gators continue to have a good year.

Buford: Is a DT combo of Norton, Ivie and Mack possible? Wouldn’t that be awesome?

AS: Yes very possible and it would be a great combo especially with the options at defensive end and BUCK too.

Buford: With the change in our offense, will we ever recruit a true big power back like Henry or Yeldon or are we going to focus on speed first, power second going forward?

AS: Yes Florida will continue to recruit a big back because you always want one guy like Matt Jones on the roster for short yardage situations.

Nicklegators: Do you feel that CeCe, Cowart , Ivey and Holland will all be in this class ? Which running back to you think we switch Ray Ray or the kid from Miami or someone else, or both ? Thank you in advance

AS: I feel good about those four guys as of this pints yes. I think Florida has a great shot at McCloud.

74gator: Does RB Damien Harris have an official visit scheduled to the UF? What’s your take on Harris?

AS: He doesn’t have one scheduled yet but I’m told that he’s likely to take one. I think he goes to either Ohio State or Kentucky personally right now.

Daswamp: Any chance with Kevin Toliver? Any plans for a visit?

AS: Honestly no chance and he has no plans to visit right now.

FrankGator627: When would you predict the next commitment might happen?

AS: In the next few weeks would be my guess right now.
