Florida Gators Football: Gators edge out Vols, 10-9

It was all about keeping the streak alive for the Florida Gators (3-1, 2-1 SEC), who won nine consecutive games over the Tennessee Volunteers (2-3, 0-2 SEC). It wasn’t pretty but the Gators kept the streak going Saturday, defeating the Volunteers 10-9.

A game that was slow on offense for both teams saw a possible changing of the guard with Treon Harris coming into the game in the second half. The quarterback provided a spark for the team, going 2/4 with 17 yards passing. The true freshman also had 4 carries for 24 yards.

The Florida defense played big, forcing a fumble and intercepting two passes, including one by Keanu Neal that sealed the game for the Gators.

  1. It can’t be ignored the lift that came when Mr. Harris came into the game. Very, very noticeable. That move could easily change the course of this season. How about the “D”? The defense got it done. And what a great time for a win and get that good feeling back before coming home to the Swamp to take on LSU! As they say, a win is a win…way to persevere. Go Gators…
