Florida commit will visit others this summer

Last week running backs coach Brian White was treated to a top spring game as he was able to witness the West Orange/Timber Creek  game that featured top prospects like Jacques Patrick and Dexter Williams.

While those two players are top prospects the prospect that White was watching was Gators athlete commit Jalen Julius (5-11, 173, Orlando, FL West Orange) who showed White that he’s as good as Patrick or Williams.

“Coach White came by my spring game to watch me play,” Julius said. “It was cool to have the Gators there. Coach White is a cool guy and it’s always nice to have him by the school. I felt like I did good for him I know I had 100 yards receiving and I made some plays on defense too. I had to put on a good performance for him.”

Julius has been committed to Florida since last April and he says that he still talks to Florida a lot and it’s usually White that he talks too.

“Florida tells me that they are glad to have me and to keep working hard so that I’m ready to play when I get there,” Julius said. “Coach White says he can’t wait for me to come up for a visit and for me to enroll at Florida next year. He says that we are going to do big things together.”

Orlando and central Florida is loaded this recruiting cycle, and as a Gator commit, Julius has taken it upon himself to do some recruiting for Florida.

“I’m recruiting a few guys to be Gators with me right now,” he said. “Of course I’m trying to get my teammate Dexter Williams to flip to Florida from Miami. I think we got a good chance to get him. We are supposed to visit Florida together in June. I tell Dexter all the time that he needs to join the SEC instead of the ACC.”

Despite his commitment to Florida several other schools have continued to recruit Julius and he says that he will gives those schools a look this summer.

“I’m solid to Florida but I still plan to visit a few other schools,” Julius said. “I’m going to visit like 10 schools because I’m going on the bus tour with a bunch of other guys. I know we are going to Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia. Ohio State, Ole Miss and Oregon State want me to visit but I’m not sure.”
