Ezzard has a strong relationship with Seider: Florida Gators recruiting

The last two Florida Gators recruiting classes have done a good job of rebuilding the receiver position at Florida but the process is continuing in 2018.

One of the top guys at the position is receiver Marquez Ezzard (6-1, 195, Stockbridge, GA. High) and he says he speaks with the Gators coaching a lot.

“I talk to Florida about three times every week,” Ezzard said of his talks with Florida. “I talk to really the whole coaching staff or at least most of them. I talk to Coach [JaJuan] Seider the most, though.”

Running backs coach JaJuan Seider has been selling Ezzard on the possibility of coming in and earning early playing time in Gainesville.

“He tells me that Florida is a wonderful place to come too and play,” he said of Seider’s message. “He said that they need more receivers because some of them are leaving after this year so I could play early. He wants me to play on the outside receiver position.”

One thing that Ezzard has that most of the Gators prospects don’t have, is a relationship with Seider that dates back a few years now.

“Coach Seider has been recruiting me ever since he was at West Virginia and now he’s trying to get me down to Florida on a visit,” Ezzard said of Seider. “He was one of the first coaches to start recruiting me, he’s my guy. We have a good relationship with each other.”

Ezzard has never visited Gainesville but he does have interest and he’s trying to work out a visit to see Florida soon.

“I have a lot of interest in Florida and I think they’re a good school,” he said. “I’m going to visit them this spring because I don’t know too much about them. I want to see the campus and meet everyone down there.”

With over 20 offers already Ezzard says that he’s no rush to make any kind of decision.

“I don’t have any leaders or anything, really all of the schools that have offered me are recruiting me hard,” Ezzard said. “I’m just trying to enjoy the process so I’m going to wait awhile to make a decision.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Ezzard is one of the top receivers in the country and is someone that Florida is going all out for. Ezzard’s relationship with Seider is going to help Florida out because they’ve already built a good bond with each other.
