Florida has four verbal commitments in the Class of 2015 already including safety Deontai Williams (6-1, 185, Jacksonville, FL Trinity Christian), who was the first to commit to the Gators for the next recruiting cycle. Now he’s trying to influence other members of big highly-regarded Trinity Christian team to come join him at Florida.
“I’ve been recruiting a bunch of people especially my teammates,” Williams said. “I had Jeff (Holland) doing the Gator chomp during the tournament. I’ve been recruiting him, Vic (Alexander) and really just everybody else that has Florida interest. We can’t get (Kevin) Toliver because he’s locked in to LSU.”
Williams has been picking up offers left and right and now has a total of 16 but no matter how many offers pour in, it has no affect on his commitment to childhood favorite Florida.
“I’m solid to Florida man,” Williams said. “I’m trying to be able to graduate early and enroll early at Florida so that I can help the team out and also help get me in better shape and help me learn the playbook better.”
Next up for Williams will be a visit back down to Gainesville where he plans to see his future team in action this spring. He’s hoping to bring some of his teammates with him when he visits.
“I’m going to visit Florida soon,” Williams said. “I’ll probably be up there a couple times next month for spring practice and maybe for another junior day or something like that.”
What about Kendrick Norton? He doesn’t mention him, like Toliver, is he a lock as well, except to FSU?
He’s visited Florida several times so I think he’s still open.
