Dean looking forward to visiting the Florida Gators this spring

The linebacker position has been a position of need for the Florida Gators for the last two years and the need for players in the 2019 class is a huge must for the staff.

Dan Mullen and his staff are recruiting several linebackers hard including linebacker Nakobe Dean (6-0, 215, Horn Lake, MS. High) who talks to Florida a lot.

“They’re recruiting me hard,” Dean said of Florida. “I talk to them every other day through text. I mostly talk to Coach [Dan] Mullen and Coach [Christian] Robinson.”

Linebackers coach Christian Robinson has been the one talking to Dean the most and he has explained why the Gators want him in Gainesville.

“Basically he reiterates how good I would fit in there defense,” he said of Robinson’s message to him. “He tells me how much he wants to get me down there on campus for a visit.”

Robinson has also made it known to Dean that the Gators need players at his position in the 2019 class.

“He has told me that the linebacker position is a position of need for them,” Dean said. “He hasn’t really said so much how quick I will play but that they need linebackers.”

Dean admits that Robinson’s playing history has caught his eye as the two are just starting to build a relationship.

“We’re building a good relationship,” he said of his relationship with Robinson.

Despite Mullen and his staff being at Mississippi State last year, Dean says he talks to this staff more now.

“I didn’t talk to them much at all, not really,” Dean said on if he talked to Mullen at Mississippi State. “I talk to them more now that they’re at Florida.”

The linebacker has made it known that he wants to visit and he explains why he wants to do that, plus when the visit could take place.

“I just want to go see and check out how it is there,” he said on why he wants to visit Florida. “It has been a school that has always interest me. I was going to visit next week but we have changed it to some time in April.”

Dean is considered one of the top linebackers in the country but he’s narrowing his list of schools down some so that he can focus on those schools.

“After my senior season,” Dean on when he will make a decision. “I just released my top 15 today [Wednesday.]”

INSIDERS TAKE: Ole Miss has been the school talked about the most with Dean but the linebacker is pretty open in his recruitment at this time. Getting Dean on campus in April would help the Gators chances a lot as the linebacker is very interested in the Gators.
