Davis the newest member of the Florida Gators recruiting class

The Florida Gators recruiting class picked up commitment number 17 on Wednesday morning when running Malik Davis (5-11, 190, Tampa, FL. Jesuit) joined the class by announcing his decision at his high school.

“I’m committing to the University of Florida,” Davis said.”

Davis didn’t waste any time committing to Florida as he just picked up what he called his “dream offer” last Friday.

“The offer means a lot to me because growing Florida was just a school that I loved,” he said after getting the offer. “Florida was always the school that I wanted to go too and to get the offer means a lot.”

After picking up the offer on Friday, Davis spoke with running backs coach Tim Skipper who stressed a need for him.

“He told me that he needs a guy like me at Florida,” Davis said. “He said that he saw my film from this year and was amazed by it. He says that he feels like I’m an every down back so I wouldn’t have to come out of the game.”

Davis is second commitment at the running back position for Florida with Adarius Lemons being the second back in the class.

Right now the status of Lemons is unknown due to him being suspended from his football team and him having to transfer schools.

GatorCountry will continue to update the running back position in regards to Lemons.
