Dante Fowler’s Path to the Draft Goes Through Pro Day

Projected as a first round lock and likely Top 5 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, former Florida Gators defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. has had a highly publicized path to the draft.

From making fashion statements at the NFL Combine to proclaiming himself the best overall player in the draft, no one has been able to miss this ride that Dante Fowler is taking fans on.

But when his meetings and self assessments got down to brass tacks, despite an impressive showing at the Combine, Fowler realized there were still a couple of things he wanted to work on.

One of those things was proving to teams he could be valuable as a linebacker, a position he filled growing up.

Used primarily as a hybrid linebacker at Florida, Fowler considers himself a defensive end, but a versatile one.

Heading into a pass happy league, he knows that his box of tricks needs to expand. So that was Fowler’s plan for Pro Day…show scouts he can play in whichever scheme need be.

GatorCountry caught up with Dante Fowler Jr. following his Pro Day to hear how his performance went, what visits he has lined up, and what team he’d love to land at (hint: it has to do with SEC country).
