Cook “I’m a Florida Gator”

Florida picked up their ninth commitment of the Class of 2014 on Saturday as they stole a commit from Clemson.

Miami (Fla.) Central running back Dalvin Cook who has been committed to Clemson since last summer, pledged to Florida today.

“I just committed to Florida,” Cook said. “It was the best decision for me and my family and it’s the best environment for me as a football player and student.”

A couple of factors played into the 5-foot-11, 192-pound Cook switching his commitment from Clemson to Florida.

“Florida’s pro-style offense is the best offense to get me to the next level,” Cook said. “Also my family loves Florida and my grandmas really trust Coach Muschamp a lot.”

When Cook met with Will Muschamp today, he came away sold on what he was telling the junior prospect.

“Coach Muschamp said that Florida would make me a great person and player,” Cook said. “He told me that he wants me a lot and that in his system, I can do great things. He said that he will get the running back the ball and he did that today. I really trusted what he was saying and I thought he was telling me the truth today.”

Cook says he solid to Florida but he does have one visit that he wants to take. He knows of one target he wants to start recruiting.

“Me and my teammate Joe Yearby are going to take a visit to USC this fall,” Cook said. “But I’m solid and a Florida Gator. I’m going to start recruiting my teammate Trevor Darling who is committed to Miami.”
