Chase joins the Florida Gators recruiting class

The recruiting momentum after FNL continues as 2018 wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has committed to the Florida Gators. The commitment comes after spending the weekend in Gainesville for FNL. The commitment from Chase adds another offensive weapon to the Gators 2018 class.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver from Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, La, was down to Florida, LSU, and TCU. The experience at FNL and the commitment of Matt Corral look to have been the deciding factors.

Chase told GatorCountry.com on Friday that he was liking Florida a lot so he wanted the opportunity to come out and compete in front of the coaches and fans at the swamp.

“I had a fun time out here,” Chase said after FNL. “I was with couple of other people I knew, but we just came out here to have fun, just compete. I just wanted to come back to Florida. I like Florida a lot, so I wanted to come back and compete.”

Chase has been constantly been working on his craft and has identified some things he wants to work on to take his game to the next level before joining the Gators next season.

“I have been working on my stacking as a receiver,” he said. “Usually, I’m used to just like running past people, because I’m faster than everybody, but I’ve got to work on my little stuff to get better.”
