2014 Receiver recruiting breakdown

With spring practice starting soon you will start to see more and more prospects visiting schools for unofficial visits.

Over the next few weeks GatorCountry is going to break down each position in the Class of 2014 and who the Gators have offered at that position for 2014.

With Florida already having Will Grier in at quarterback GatorCountry isn’t going to break down the quarterback position.

On Monday, we previewed the running back board and next up we will preview the receiver board as the Gators would like to add 3-4 at the position this year.

Bamberg (S.C.) Bamberg-Ehrhardt receiver Aggadoria Bowers

The 6-foot-4, 183-pound receiver hasn’t showed that much interest in Florida. South Carolina looks to be in good shape with him moving forward.

Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar receiver Ryeshene Bronson

Bronson was the first Gator to commit for 2014 and while he continues to take visits, those close to him believe he will stick with Florida. The 6-foot-3, 182-pound receiver’s mother really likes the coaching staff at Florida, a big key moving forward.

Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Dwyer receiver Johnnie Dixon

The 6-foot, 175-pound Dixon has a lot of interest in Florida, but since quarterback Jacoby Brissett transferred, Dixon has kind of soured some on Florida. The Gators will try to get Dixon on campus soon to mend those relationships.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian receiver Isaiah Ford

Ford is the teammate of Florida signee Nick Washington and the two are very close. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Ford is a player that Florida could land if they push hard on him. Ford will visit Florida for a spring practice.

Texas City (TX.) High receiver Armanti Foreman

A Oklahoma commitment, Foreman has been flirting with other schools and almost committed to Texas A&M over the weekend. The 6-foot, 174-pound Foreman grew up a Florida fan and the Gators are trying to get him on campus for a vist.

Grand Rapids (MI.) Christian receiver Drake Harris

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Harris is a Michigan State commitment, but he is very soft now that he will not be playing basketball anymore. Harris likes the SEC and the ability to be able to play in the league. Harris has plans to visit Florida on March 23rd for a spring practice.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Corey Holmes

Holmes is a guy that Florida isn’t recruiting hard at this time. The 6-foot-1, 172-pound Holmes is a good player and says he may visit this spring.

Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek receiver Demarre Kitt

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Kitt is an impressive player but one that Florida has kind of backed off of lately. Kitt also recently named a top 10 and Florida wasn’t included in that list.

Homestead (Fla.) High receiver Ermon Lane

Lane has said he hears the most from Alabama and Florida and the Gators are making sure to let him know he is wanted. The 6-foot-2, 172-pound Lane has told GatorCountry.com he wants to visit soon, getting him on campus is a huge opportunity for the Gators.

Gallatin (TN.) Station Camp receiver Josh Malone

The 6-foot-5, 187-pound Malone and quarterback commit Will Grier continue to build a strong relationship. Ohio State and Tennessee are pushing hard for Malone as well but a visit to Gainesville should happen soon for Malone.

Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef receiver Jacob McCrary

McCrary has an offer, but Florida hasn’t spoken to him in quite some time. The 6-foot, 185-pound McCrary tore his ACL last year and is still recovering from the injury.

New Orleans (LA.) Edna Karr receiver Speedy Noil

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Noil is a talented receiver, but LSU looks to be in good shape for Noil and he hasn’t set up a visit to Florida yet.

Carmel (In.) High receiver Austin Roberts

Roberts played at Plant last year before moving to Indiana. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Roberts will visit at the end of March.

Tarpon Spring (Fla.) East Lake receiver Artavis Scott

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Scott likes Florida a lot, but he also likes Clemson and other out of state schools. His teammate Mason Cole has already committed to Michigan as well. Scott has said he will visit this spring.

Durham (N.C.) Hillside receiver Trevion Thompson

Thompson admits to growing up a Florida fan and says he will visit this summer. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound receiver is high on the board for Florida and they hope to see Thompson on campus.

Monroe (Ga.) Area receiver Stanton Truitt

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Truitt was offered as a slot receiver and says he grew up liking Florida. Truitt says he will come back to Florida for camp this summer.
