Florida Gators assistant coach John Pelphrey stopped by Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tenn. to see 2014 small forward Jalen Lindsey on Wednesday.

Lindsey, who was offered by the Gators on March 1, has been in contact with coach Pelphrey since February. The 6-foot-6, 180-pound forward said the visit was a positive one.

“Coach Pelphrey came to the school around 3 p.m.,” Lindsey said. “I worked out in front of him and we had a good talk about what I was looking for in him and the school and he told me some facts about Florida.”

“We had a great conversation and we really connected,” he added.

Lindsey has kept an eye on the Florida program over the years, and so far, he likes what he sees.

“I’ve seen them play. I like their solid play and I like their coach. Billy Donovan is a great coach, but I’m still getting to know more about Florida,” Lindsey said.

Lindsey added that Pelphrey just told him how much he would enjoy playing for Donovan if he chose to play at Florida.

“He was just telling me how good [Florida] is,” Lindsey said. “He was telling me how good of a coach Donovan is and how I would love playing for him. I’m really excited he told me that stuff.”

There isn’t a favorite or a list of top schools for Lindsey at this time, but the Nashville forward says he has a “great relationship with Florida.”

Lindsey hasn’t planned any unofficial visits, but acknowledged he wants to visit Florida at some point.
