Colleges evaluate C Bradley Hayes
Most basketball recruits have already announced their decisions for the 2012 class and most have already signed their letters-of-intent.
Jacksonville, Fla., center Bradley Hayes is one of the few that hasn’t decided. He is still weighing his options and waiting on more scholarship offers.
On Friday, the 6-foot-11, 250-pound Hayes hosted a workout for college coaches to evaluate his skills. Florida State, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Mississippi State attended, but one school and its coach were noticeably absent.
“(Florida) coach (Billy) Donovan was supposed to come, but he had to attend a Nike conference,” Hayes said. “He told me that he would be my next week to watch me workout, either on Tuesday or Wednesday.”
Florida has yet to extend a scholarship offer to Hayes, but that could change following next week’s evaluation.
“Coach Donovan told me after he watches me workout, (then) we would talk about an offer,” Hayes said. “If Florida offers me they will be high on my list. They are a good school and close to home.”
The Sandalwood prospect said he would like to make a decision within two weeks after Florida watches him workout. He also said a visit to Florida is possible in the near future.
