Outside shooting fine with Donovan

Now a fourth of the way into SEC play, the Gators are realizing teams are defending them a little bit differently to take away some of the things they do best.

All year long, Florida has been a sharp-shooting team from the perimeter. The Gators entered SEC play shooting a remarkable 41.4 percent from behind the arc. SEC opponents have been able to hold the Gators to 37.5 percent from behind the arc, and Billy Donovan has watched teams constantly scheme up new defensive adjustments to try to slow them down.

“Every team is going to guard you a little bit differently,” Donovan said. “I thought Erving Walker had some pretty good looks in the game against LSU, as did Kenny Boynton. They didn’t go down.”
