Sun Devils’ offense will test Gators

Franz Beard - Managing Editor  |  March 25, 2008

The new-look Florida Gators, who have suddenly added defense to their repertoire, have quite a challenge on their hands when they take on Arizona State Tuesday in round three of the National Invitation Tournament (9 p.m., Tempe, AZ, Wells Fargo Arena, ESPN). Coach Herb Sendek’s Sun Devils may be challenged in the height department but there is nothing challenged about their offense. Their version of the Princeton offense spreads the floor and revolves like a wheel around 6-9 junior Jeff Pendergraph. When it is running properly, the Sun Devils get a lot of layups off back door cuts and high percentage shots on the perimeter.
