A few days ago, Florida coach Billy Donovan quipped about scheduling the Lakers as a future opponent, making reference to the Gators’ ambitious out-of-conference slate.

Having already faced Georgetown (I'm counting it, even if the NCAA isn't) and Wisconsin, the undefeated and seventh-ranked Gators (5-0) face another perilous stretch, beginning Thursday night at 9 against Marquette. Florida hosts the 5-1 Golden Eagles as part of the SEC/Big East Challenge, before heading to Tallahassee to face Florida State and then out Tucson for a battle with perennial power, No. 9 Arizona.
