The Gators practiced twice on Sunday and again on Monday, and women’s basketball player Jordan Jones tweeted it was the loudest she had ever heard the men practice.

Upset with his team’s intensity level on defense and around the rim, coach Billy Donovan put bubbles on both of the rims so players couldn’t make shots. Freshman Brad Beal said the team really took well to it, and he described the practices Sunday as some of the most intense and the best of the year.

He sure played like it in a 70-48 Florida (13-4, 1-1 SEC) win over Georgia (9-7, 0-2 SEC) in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on Tuesday night.

“We played with a lot of energy and passion tonight,” Beal said. “We played harder than we did at Tennessee and these previous games. [Donovan] was pretty pleased with that.”
