Florida Gators in the NBA: 1.09.13

Ten former University of Florida men’s basketball players have remained in action in the NBA this season.

Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
Beal led Washington to their fifth win of the season in their latest outing against defending-Western Conference champions Oklahoma City on Monday, January 7. The rookie led all scorers with 22 points and sank the game-winning shot with 0.3 seconds left. He also tallied a career-best 24 points against Brooklyn on Friday, January 4. On the year, Beal is averaging 13.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and 2.6 apg.

Matt Bonner, San Antonio Spurs
Bonner has played in all but five games for San Antonio, averaging 3.9 ppg and 2.0 rpg. Last week, he scored seven points and pulled down four rebounds in four games.

Corey Brewer, Denver Nuggets
Brewer has played in every game for Denver this year, averaging 11.3 ppg and 3.4 rpg. In the team’s latest game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, January 6, Brewer contributed 14 points and six rebounds.

Udonis Haslem, Miami Heat
Haslem has played in 31 games this season for Miami, starting 15. He is averaging 3.7 ppg and 5.1 rpg. Against Washington on Sunday, January 6, Haslem collected a season-best 12 rebounds.

Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks
Horford is averaging 15.0 ppg, 9.8 rpg, and 3.3 apg for Atlanta this season. He is currently tied for 12th in the league in rebounding. Last week, Horford collected two double-doubles and a season-high 15 rebounds against Detroit on Friday, January 4.

David Lee, Golden State Warriors
Lee is currently the sixth-leading rebounder and 10th-leading scorer in the league, averaging 19.9 ppg and 10.9 rpg. Last week, he averaged 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in two games.

Mike Miller, Miami Heat
In 31 games, Miller is averaging 3.9 ppg and 2.2 rpg. In Miami’s game against Washington on Sunday, January 6, he scored a season-best 13 points. He was 4-of-5 from the field and 2-for-3 from behind the three-point line.

Joakim Noah, Chicago Bulls
Along with Lee, Noah is one of 10 players in the league to be averaging a double-double (12.7 ppg and 10.4 rpg). In addition, Noah leads Chicago in rebounds, steals, and blocks on the year. Last week, Noah recorded a double-double in the two games he played in.

Chandler Parsons, Houston Rockets
Parsons has started every game but one for Houston this season. He is averaging 14.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg, and 3.6 apg. In the team’s last contest against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, January 8, Parsons recorded 20 points. It marked his first 20-point game since December 28.

Marreese Speights, Memphis Grizzlies
Speights has played in every game this year for Memphis, averaging 7.0 and 5.0 rpg. He had the best night of his season against Portland on Friday, January 4. Speights set two season-highs with 22 points and 13 rebounds. It also marked his second double-double of the year.
