The last time the No. 5 Gators where in the arid desert of Arizona, they squandered an 11-point second half lead to Louisville to end their season just minutes short of a Final Four appearance.
On Saturday night, just over 100 miles south from the location of their last defeat, the Gators experienced a stomach-churning case of déjà vu — as they again let an 11-point second half lead slip through their fingers against a team they outplayed for the majority of the evening — this time to the Arizona Wildcats who stole a 65-64 victory from Florida in the game’s waning moments.
