ShareErving Walker still working toward NBA
Heading into the 2012 NBA Draft, one former Gator knew he would be hearing his name echo throughout the Prudential Center, and he knew it would be early.
As expected, NBA commissioner David Stern announced Bradley Beal would be heading to the Washington Wizards early Thursday night.
The other Gator, Erving Walker, knew it was unlikely his name would be called during the draft.
While doubtful, there was some thought Walker might get picked late in the second round.
Prior to the draft, he worked out for a number of NBA teams. Among them were the New York Knicks, who owned pick No. 48 and the Boston Celtics, who held the No. 51 pick.
Still, it was a long shot.
