The No. 11 Gators (9-2) went into the half against Mississippi Valley State (1-9) up 46-22 after a blistering start to the game on the offensive end.

They came out of halftime running sprints on the defensive end of the floor. Players toe-tapped on the baseline and then sprinted to midcourt and back about a dozen times before the second half began.

Billy Donovan had to do something to catch his team’s attention, so he made them sprint in front of the crowd of 8,025 in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

“We need to do a better job as a staff – coaches, strength coach, trainer – of getting these guys more active,” Donovan said. “I was disappointed with the way we came back out in the second half against (Texas) A&M, and I just told the strength coach we need to get these guys moving around better.”
