The refrain roared through Ben Hill Griffin Stadium — "It's great to be a Florida Gator".

It cascaded down the steps, bellowed thru the tunnels, reverberated off the walls, sounded thru the streets and echoed off the nearby O'Connell Center.

It is great to be a Florida Gator. And in mere weeks, it will likely be even greater. That echo bouncing off the currently quiet basketball facility is soon to be replaced by an accompanying chorus of fans singing the praises of another stellar Florida team.

Yup ... it's basketball season.
