Karsten Whitson strong in return

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Kevin O’Sullivan saw all he needed from the crown jewel of Florida’s pitching staff after only eight pitches.

Karsten Whitson, the Perfect Game National Freshman Pitcher of the Year and former first round draft pick, appeared in his first game since Feb. 26 on Tuesday night vs. North Florida.

The two decided the Tuesday rehab start would give an idea of how Whitson has recovered since re-tweaking a groin injury he suffered earlier in the season.
