He didn’t see Daniel Pigott charging from left field as he drifted past the infield clay to make an over-the-shoulder catch.
Nolan Fontana crashed into Pigott in a nasty collision, which ended the shortstop’s night against Central Florida last April in Gainesville.
While the then No. 4 Gators dropped the Tuesday night game 4-3, a bigger concern was the health of Fontana.
