Hoover, Ala. -- The Florida baseball team fell to Vanderbilt 7-3 in its opening game of the 2008 SEC baseball tournament. Only Gator Country sent a photographer from Florida to cover the action. Here's an exclusive photo gallery of 133 images from the action.
A crowd of 6,027 fans at Regions Park were in attendance for the first session of the tournament
Florida starting pitcher Patrick Keating suffered his first loss of the season as his record fell to 8-1. Vanderbilt starter Mike Minor improved to 6-2 while Russell Brewer earned his sixth save.
UF had two hits from Brandon McArthur and Jon Townsend in the game, totaling 14 hits. McArthur’s double was the only extra-base hit for either team.
The Florida bullpen allowed only one run off of Kyle Mullaney, as Tony Davis, J.K. LaCoste and Clint Franklin kept the Commodores off of the scoreboard.
The Gators (34-21) will face South Carolina (37-20) at 11am EDT on Friday in an elimination game.
