ShareNotes: Hogs hurler brings the heat
Arkansas starting pitcher Ryan Stanek used an overpowering fastball to keep Florida hitless until Preston Tucker’s sixth inning single during the Gators’ 3-2 win against the Razorbacks.
Stanek’s fastball topped out at 97 mph in the first inning and he was still throwing 97 on his 70th pitch, which UF’s Nolan Fontana fouled off behind home plate.
“Stanek had his stuff going. He was really, really throwing hard tonight,” said Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan. “He was giving our hitters some trouble.”
