With one typical Preston Tucker swing, the senior right fielder gave Florida a lead it would not relinquish vs. Florida State.
The 9-2 victory turned into an old-fashioned beat down with the No. 1 Florida Gators (16-1) outlasting the No. 6 Florida State Seminoles (14-2) in a three-hour Tuesday night matchup in which the Gators scored nine unanswered runs en route to tying a school record 14-consecutive wins.
Tucker drove a third inning Scott Sitz fastball just over the right field wall bringing in Nolan Fontana from first and Tyler Thompson from second.
