Collapse in ninth sends UF packing

After surviving a shaky start from sophomore right-hander Karsten Whitson, the Gators seemed to be cruising to a win in the SEC Tournament semifinal against the Commorodes.

Instead, Vanderbilt (33-25) rallied for five runs in the top of the ninth inning to stun Florida (42-18) in a remarkable come-from-behind 8-6 victory.

“When you give up five in the ninth, it’s hard to win any game,” assistant coach Brad Weitzel said on the Gator Radio Network.
