Florida is in a mid-season slide, having lost 10 of its last 20 games. Still, the Gators find themselves within striking distance of the Southeastern Conference title with three weekend series remaining.

This weekend may prove to be the most pivotal of them, as No. 5 Florida (33-12, 12-9 SEC) travels to face No. 6 Kentucky (36-9, 14-7 SEC), one of three teams currently atop the SEC standings.

To have a realistic shot at an SEC title with LSU and South Carolina also two games ahead of Florida, the Gators need to win the series.

“We have no choice to get ourselves going, because [the Wildcats] are playing well and if [we’re] not sharp, then obviously [we] won’t be excited about the end result,” coach Kevin O’Sullivan said. “That’s what the SEC is all about. Every weekend is difficult.”
