A year after getting drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 16th round of the MLB Draft, the heart and soul of Florida’s senior class didn’t have to wait quite as long to hear his name called in 2012.

The Houston Astros drafted Preston Tucker in the seventh round with the 219th overall pick, locking him into an MLB franchise for the foreseeable future.

Tucker best projects as an outfielder despite spending a lot of time at Florida at first base early in his career. His 6-foot, 220-pound frame isn’t quite as tall as most MLB teams would like at first, and his range in the outfield has improved considerably over the past year.
