Georgia Tech’s Jake Davies’ first pregame pitch sailed past catcher Zane Evans’ glove to the backstop, drawing a round of razzing from the crowd of 3,537 at McKethan Stadium.
He should have walked off the field.
It Florida’s day, not his — again.
Davies was stung for seven runs in the first two innings and the Gators had many heroes, not goats, during a 15-3 win against Yellow Jackets in the Gainesville Regional finals on Sunday.
