ShareCWS history not in Florida’s favor
Through 1987, the College World Series featured one double-elimination bracket to crown a champion. Beginning in 1988, the format was changed into two four-team double-elimination brackets with the winner of each bracket playing in a championship to crown a winner.
Last season, Florida made the College World Series before falling to South Carolina in the championship series. As runner-up, Florida is in the same place 23 other teams have been in since the format change.
