ShareBehind Enemy Lines: South Carolina
Florida will take on South Carolina on Saturday to open College World Series play in a rematch of last year’s national title bout.
Both teams come in riding a five-game winning streak in this year’s NCAA Tournament, having cruised through their respective regionals and super regionals. The Gamecocks boast an even more impressive 21-game NCAA Tournament winning streak as the two-time defending national champions.
South Carolina finished just a half-game ahead of Florida in this year’s SEC standings and a half-game out of an SEC title split with LSU. The Gamecocks were eliminated from the SEC Tournament by the Gators in the semifinals.
